Muhoozi Threatens to ‘Personally’ Kill Bobi Wine

After carrying out his threat to raid National Unity Platform (NUP) offices, Uganda’s Chief of Defense Forces (CDF) and President Yoweri Museveni’s son, Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, have issued fresh threats against NUP leader Robert Kyagulanyi, also known as Bobi Wine.

Last Thursday, police and other security agencies stormed the NUP headquarters in Makerere Kavule and the party’s leadership school in Kamwokya, confiscating computers, CCTV systems, uniforms, and learning materials. Authorities claimed the raid aimed to gather evidence for upcoming charges.

Muhoozi took to his X page (@mkainerugaba) to claim responsibility for the operation.

“I entered Kabobi’s office the other day only to find weed and condoms… Now I’m going to his home! If anyone tries to fight, we will KILL!” he posted.

In another post, Muhoozi directly warned Kyagulanyi and his supporters against causing unrest, threatening to “personally put a bullet in his… head! If he even thinks about it!” He further declared that anyone found wearing NUP uniforms would be killed “no questions asked.”

Responding to the threats, Kyagulanyi dismissed calls to ignore Muhoozi, citing his influential position as military chief.

“The difference is that Museveni’s son controls our military—illegally gifted that role by his father. He can act on these threats, and he already has. The abductions, torture, and raids are proof of his capabilities. As we continue mobilizing our people to resist these criminals, the world must not ignore Uganda’s reality. This rogue regime, in its final days, has gone completely mad,” Kyagulanyi tweeted.

Muhoozi’s inflammatory remarks have not only unsettled the opposition but also the government. President Museveni has previously criticized his son’s social media behavior, which has even sparked diplomatic tensions.
