According to regional police spokesperson Vincent Twesige, the incident occurred on Wednesday evening shortly after Ahurra had returned home from church. He reportedly removed a rope tied to a cow and told his mother he was heading to collect firewood in a nearby valley.

Minutes later, he was discovered hanging from a tree in a neighbour’s garden.

Police say statements from family members and other witnesses have been recorded, and an inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the death is under way.
