A group of black pigs with politically charged messages painted on their bodies were discovered early Tuesday morning outside the Democratic Party (DP) headquarters on Balintuma Road in Kampala.
Eight pigs, each bearing phrases such as “DP bleeds,” were left at the scene in what appears to be a symbolic act of protest. The use of pigs—commonly viewed in Uganda as symbols of corruption or disdain—has stirred speculation about discontent within or against the party.

Witnesses say the incident has caused alarm among staff and supporters at the party offices, with many unsure whether it signals internal unrest or an attack by external political actors.
No individual or group has claimed responsibility, and police have yet to release an official statement regarding the incident.
The Democratic Party, one of Uganda’s oldest political organisations, has experienced increasing internal divisions in recent years and continues to face challenges in maintaining its relevance in the country’s evolving political landscape.
