Ugandan musician Douglas Mayanja, widely known by his stage name Weasel, has been admitted to Nsambya Hospital in Kampala with a fractured leg, following an alleged domestic incident involving his partner, Sandra Tete.
According to local police, the incident occurred at Chan’s Bar in Munyonyo, a suburb in Makindye Division, where eyewitnesses claim Tete struck Weasel multiple times with a vehicle, reportedly resulting in serious injuries to one of his legs.

Sandra Tete was later arrested and is currently being held at Kabalagala Police Station. In a statement recorded by investigators, Tete said the confrontation began earlier in the day when Weasel allegedly forced her and their children out of their home during a heated dispute. She said she sought help from Weasel’s family but was advised to return and resolve the matter with him directly.
Tete further told police that upon returning home, she was met with continued verbal abuse and physical assault. She then followed Weasel to the bar, where another confrontation ensued.
“After we argued again at the bar, I got into the car and knocked him down,” she reportedly told detectives.
Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson Patrick Onyango confirmed the arrest and said that Weasel was taken to hospital for treatment. The musician, who is the younger brother of popular Ugandan artist Dr Jose Chameleone (Joseph Mayanja), remains under medical care.
The couple’s relationship has long been marked by instability, with past disputes leading to multiple police interventions. Despite several separations, they have often reconciled with the help of relatives and close friends.
