Musician Ivan Bugembe Ssentamu, widely known by his stage name Dax Vibez, has announced the cancellation of his highly anticipated debut concert, which had been scheduled for August 29, 2025, at Hotel Africana.
The singer, who is also the brother of National Unity Platform (NUP) leader Robert Kyagulanyi (Bobi Wine), shared the news on Saturday via social media, expressing disappointment over the development.

“After 9 months of advertising and all, Hotel Africana has cancelled my show. I don’t know what to do next,” he posted on X (formerly Twitter).
The event had been under active promotion for months and was set to mark a major milestone in Dax Vibez’s music career. However, Hotel Africana has yet to issue an official statement explaining the cancellation.
This is not the first time the venue has withdrawn from hosting a major music event. Earlier this year, Hotel Africana also cancelled a performance by singer Alien Skin, reportedly over security concerns.
The repeated cancellations raise broader questions about the challenges artists face in organizing public concerts, especially amid political sensitivities and unclear venue policies.
