Regional police spokesperson Apollo Tayebwa said the victims were identified as 23-year-old Blessed Atuhweere from Ntungamo, Waiswa Narutazari from Mitooma, and William Rwakisheija from Bushenyi. A fourth man, 40-year-old Nathan Mulekwa, sustained serious injuries but survived.

According to investigators, the tragedy occurred when a metallic tent pole came into contact with a three-phase high-voltage power line. The bodies were later taken to Kampala International University Teaching Hospital in Ishaka for post-mortem examination.

Authorities said the crusade was halted immediately. William Kasigazi, the deputy Resident District Commissioner of Bushenyi, criticized the organisers for failing to alert security officials or arrange medical support for the gathering.

Police added that the church leader, Pastor Kiiza of Rock Ministries, is currently on the run as inquiries continue.
