After formally entering the race to retain his positions as NRM party chairman and presidential flag bearer, President Yoweri Museveni pledged to drive Uganda’s economic transformation over the next five years, citing widespread support from citizens during his recent national tours.

Museveni emphasized that his decision to seek re-election was based on calls from grassroots supporters urging him not to abandon the country’s development agenda. He reaffirmed his commitment to wealth creation and national progress, urging Ugandans to back his continued leadership.
Speaking at the NRM headquarters in Kampala, where he was received by top party leaders and enthusiastic supporters, Museveni urged transparency and accountability from newly elected party officials. He cautioned against corruption and called on leaders to serve with integrity.
With no opponents yet declared, Museveni remains the only contender for both roles, having fulfilled all nomination requirements.
