A popular master of ceremonies in Mbale has died after being stabbed in what police believe was a domestic dispute.
Jonathan Wanambwa, 30, widely known by his stage name MC Gavin, was attacked at a private residence on Tuesday evening. He was taken to Mbale Regional Referral Hospital but was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.

Preliminary police findings suggest that his girlfriend was behind the stabbing and is thought to have taken her own life shortly afterwards. Detectives have opened an inquiry to establish the sequence of events and the motive.
Elgon Region Police have appealed for calm, saying more information will be shared once investigations are complete.
Friends and colleagues have paid tribute to Wanambwa, describing him as a lively performer whose presence animated social events across the city. They said his death is a major loss to the local entertainment community.
