In an unusual scene that caught attention at the nomination grounds, NRM Electoral Commission Chairperson Dr. Tanga Odoi personally announced Gen. Ali’s nomination without the retired general exiting his vehicle.

“On behalf of the commission, I hereby nominate Gen. Moses Ali for the Adjumani West Constituency in Adjumani District. “Congratulations,” declared Dr. Odoi.

Officials confirmed that all legal nomination procedures were followed and Gen. Ali was successfully registered as a candidate on the ruling party’s ticket.

Both deputy prime ministers are among a group of senior politicians aiming to maintain their positions within the NRM as the party gears up for the 2026 general elections.

These nominations form part of the NRM’s internal selection process to determine its official flag bearers ahead of next year’s national vote.
