Missing Kyengera man found dead in Kiboga district

Police in Uganda’s Wamala region have launched an investigation into the suspected killing of a man whose body was discovered in Kiboga district.

The deceased has been identified as Henry Lubwama Kisitu, a resident of Kyengera Town Council in Wakiso district.

According to the regional police spokesperson, Lameck Kigozi, the body was found in Bukyanga Cell, Koboga Town, by a local resident, Robert Kawuki.

Mr Kawuki told police he made the discovery while heading to a nearby thicket to dispose of the remains of a family dog, when he came across the man’s body.

Police say initial findings suggest Mr Kisitu had been missing for several days prior to the discovery. Investigators believe he may have been killed at a different location before his body was transported and abandoned in the area in an attempt to hide the crime.

Mr Kigozi said the body showed clear signs of physical violence, pointing to possible foul play.

Police have appealed to members of the public, especially residents of Kyengera, Bukyanga and neighbouring communities, to share any information that could help identify those responsible, determine the motive, and reconstruct the events leading to Mr Kisitu’s death.
