The committee overseeing the burial of Francis Onapito Ekolomoit, the former Presidential Press Secretary, has estimated the funeral to cost Shs. 650 Million.
Ekolomoit died on 27th September this year after a successful career in Journalism, Politics and the Corporate world and will be laid to rest on 30th November at his ancestral home in Asal Atap, Wera Subcounty Amuria District.
According to its chairperson, Mr Richard Adongu, the government has committed to contributing Shs200 million of the total budget, “The remaining 450 million will come from friends and companies that the late dearly rendered his expertise.“

Ekolomoit, a former Member of Parliament and Legal and Corporate Affairs Director at Nile Breweries, has left a larger than life legacy in community service grounded in humility.
Before his departure, Ekolomoit had built a mausoleum for his deceased parents. The organising committee mentioned that his tomb is almost complete as per his will.
Ekolomoit is survived by 3 children and a wife.
