Former Osukuru LCIII Chairperson, John Paul Okanya, attempted to kill himself and failed. Reports say Okanya returned home at around midnight, and a heated argument broke up between him and his wife, Judith Muyodi.
To quell the escalating situation, their daughter persuaded their mother to leave the bedroom. The mother, Muyodi, and her four daughters moved to the sitting room, leaving Okanya alone in the bedroom.
Shortly after, a gunshot rang out, followed by ghastly cries for help. Rushing to the bedroom, the family found Okanya lying in his blood.
