At least two people have died and several others sustained injuries following a school bus accident in Mityana District on Sunday morning.
The incident occurred in Kasoozo Village, Zigoti Town Council, when a bus transporting pupils from Daystar Junior School in Makindye overturned. The vehicle, operated by HMK Company and bearing registration number UAP 829U, reportedly lost control while descending a slope.

Emergency responders, including police and medical teams, quickly arrived at the crash site. The injured were taken to nearby medical facilities for urgent treatment.
Eyewitnesses described a chaotic scene, with children crying out for help in the aftermath of the accident.
“The children were screaming. It was terrifying,” said one local resident who arrived shortly after the crash.
Authorities have not yet released the identities of the deceased, pending notification of their families. The total number of injured remains unconfirmed, though local officials warn the figure may increase.
Investigations into the cause of the accident are ongoing.
