Authorities in Nakasongola District are investigating a disturbing murder case involving a man who was allegedly caught with a severed human head in a village in Nabiswera Sub-county. The suspect, identified as John Isoke, was apprehended by residents after he reportedly tried to flee when the headless body of farm worker Herbert Ameir was discovered at a local farm.

According to police, Isoke—who had previously worked at the same farm—used a panga to kill Ameir in a small house on the premises before attempting to transport the victim’s head in a polythene bag to Kampala for alleged sale. He was caught after abandoning the bag while being pursued by residents and later confessed to the crime at Migyera Police Station.
This incident adds to the rising trend of violent crime in Uganda. The national police registered 4,329 murder cases in 2024, reflecting a 2 percent increase from the previous year, according to their latest crime report.
