A pregnant woman and another individual sustained serious injuries when an ambulance overturned in Lopeii Village, Napak District, on the morning of Sunday, May 11, 2025.
The vehicle, a Kotido General Hospital ambulance with registration number UAY 237Y, was transporting the expectant mother to St. Kizito Hospital Matany when the driver reportedly lost control, causing it to overturn.

Eyewitness John Longoli described the moments before the crash: “I saw the vehicle swerving on the road before it flipped. We rushed over and pulled the injured out of the wreckage.”
Dr. Cerino Acar, the district health officer, confirmed the accident and said the victims were swiftly taken to Matany Hospital for treatment.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the crash, and the pregnant woman’s condition remains unknown at the time of reporting.
