Investigations point to their father, a resident of Buyende District, Kitukiro Village, as having committed the act due to frustration at having failed to secure a job.

Ms. Racheal Kawala, the Wamala Regional Police Spokesperson, narrated that “Mubi left Buyende District with his children for Kayunga District in the search for employment but was unsuccessful. On December 8, he travelled to Hoima City, hoping to secure a job with the help of his brother. However, upon arriving in Hoima, he failed to locate his brother, whose phone was unreachable. Frustrated and desperate, he left Hoima on December 10, travelling by Boda Boda to Kiboga district, where he stopped in Magi Village.”

Ms. Kawala added that preliminary reports said that Mubi was the sole provider for his two children after having separated from their mother.

She added that the suspect is in police custody as further investigation goes on.
