Three Pupils Injured After Sino Truck Crashes Into School

Three pupils from Shalom Junior School in Bwera, Kasese District, sustained injuries after a Sino truck crashed into their school.

The truck, registered as UBP 057N and driven by an unidentified driver, was transporting marram when it failed to navigate a corner due to a slippery road surface, causing it to overturn.

According to police reports, the truck fell onto the school fence, where three children—Brighton Mumbere, aged six; Adrati Sixtusi, aged three; and Edrick Mumbere, aged three—were standing. The children suffered severe injuries.

Rwenzori East Regional Police Spokesperson Nelson Tumushime stated that the injured pupils were promptly taken to the hospital for treatment, while police continue efforts to apprehend the truck driver.

The truck has since been towed to Bwera Division Police Station pending inspection.
