The National Resistance Movement (NRM) has decided to turn to courts of law to contest the outcome of the political contest that saw it lose the Kawempe North by-election.
Through its secretariat, following directives from the Central Executive Committee (CEC) chaired by President Yoweri Museveni, it summoned all polling agents of Nambi Faridah from the recently concluded Kawempe North by-election.

The goal of this is said to gather necessary evidence and exhibits to support a court petition challenging the victory of the successful National Unity Platform (NUP) candidate, Erias Nalukoola.
All polling agents of Nambi Faridah were convened at the NRM secretariat along Kyadondo Road in Kampala for a closed-door meeting with top party officials.
The gathering was characterized by frustration, as the agents expressed concerns about alleged irregularities in the electoral process.
“We have everything it takes to present our case before courts of law, and we are here to share with our lawyers,” some of Nambi’s agents, who preferred anonymity, bitterly stated.
Nambi echoed the sentiments, urging the agents to remain truthful.
“Be truthful and present your facts to the party so we can challenge the illegality.”
In the tense meeting, the agents had an opportunity to compare notes with Faridah Nambi and senior NRM leaders.
The NRM National Coordinator, Rosemary Sseninde, confirmed the directive to collect sufficient evidence from the Central Executive Committee (CEC) chaired by President Museveni.
“We cannot allow such illegality to continue. Our instructions from the Central Executive Committee are to gather as much substantial evidence as possible to back up the petition,” Sseninde stated.
