Eleven people were injured on Sunday morning after a passenger bus overturned along the Ntungamo–Kabale road in Rukiga District.
The accident occurred at Rwabahazi Village at about 6:10am and involved a Gateway-bound Scania bus, registration number UBM 707X, which was travelling from Kampala to Kabale.
According to survivors, the driver lost control while negotiating a sharp corner, striking a female pedestrian before the vehicle veered off the road, plunged into a trench and overturned.

The pedestrian, identified as Dafuroza Rwakinda, sustained critical injuries in the crash.
Ten passengers aboard the bus, including the driver, were also injured.
The injured were identified as driver Karim Balabye, 54, a resident of Bugembe in Jinja District; Asumpta Kyomuhangi, 40, of Nansana; Ronnie Nowamani, 18, also from Nansana in Wakiso District; Blaire Nowamani, 14; Brandon Nowembabazi, 11, from Kabale District; Patience Busingye, 49; Benson Kiconco, 55, from Kampala; Pauson Asimwe, 40, from Rubanda District; Richard Basisha, 34, a Rwandan national; and Tracy Ninsima, 21, from Muhanga Town Council in Rukiga District.
Kigezi regional police spokesperson Elly Maate said Rwakinda and several of the injured victims were rushed to Kabale Regional Referral Hospital for treatment.
Others were admitted to ROTOM Health Centre in Muhanga Town Council.
Maate said the wreckage of the bus had been towed to Muhanga Police Station for inspection as investigations into the cause of the crash continue.
