Ugandan police have detained Sandra Teta over allegations that she deliberately struck her partner, musician Douglas Mayanja—better known as Weasel—in a late-night incident in Munyonyo.
The reported altercation occurred shortly after midnight near Shan’s Bar, Kampala Metropolitan Police Deputy Spokesperson Luke Owoyesigyire said.

“It is alleged that Sandra Teta intentionally drove and knocked down Weasel using motor vehicle registration number UBH 148Y,” Mr Owoyesigyire stated.
The vehicle has been impounded and taken to Kabalagala Police Station as part of the ongoing investigation.
Weasel was first taken to Mukwaya General Hospital before being transferred to Nsambya Hospital, where he is receiving treatment.
Ms Teta is currently in custody at Kabalagala Police Station and is facing charges of unlawful wounding.
Police say inquiries into the incident are still under way, with more information expected to follow.
