These results mark the final round of examinations conducted under the Uganda Business and Technical Examinations Board (UBTEB) before the implementation of the new TVET Act, which takes effect in 2025.

Speaking at the release ceremony, UVTAB Executive Secretary Onesmus Oyesigye announced that a total of 31,890 candidates registered for the national assessments. Of these, 26,703 candidates (84%) sat for examinations in technology-related programs leading to a National Certificate qualification.

A further 4,937 candidates took assessments in business and humanities-related fields. In contrast, only 250 candidates registered for programs in physical and biological sciences, signaling a low uptake in science-based vocational training.

The release of the results comes as Uganda prepares to transition into a new era of vocational education regulation under the TVET Act 2025, aimed at streamlining skills development and improving the quality of technical education across the country.
