Karimu Mwase, the Deputy Resident City Commissioner (RCC) for Lira City, has been found dead under mysterious circumstances, with his body reportedly abandoned in a roadside trench along the Iganga–Bugiri highway.

The grim discovery was made early Monday morning. Authorities later transported the body to the Iganga General Hospital mortuary, where a postmortem examination is expected to be conducted.
At this stage, the motive behind his death remains unclear, and officials have yet to release further details as investigations are still ongoing.
