Karamoja MP Adome Plans Grand Easter Party for his Voters

The Easter bells won’t be the only things ringing in Moroto this Sunday — expect fireworks, music, and jubilant cheers to reverberate across the Karamoja plains as Moroto Municipality MP Francis Lorika Adome prepares to host what’s being hailed as the region’s biggest celebration of the season.

Titled the “Marble City Easter Thanksgiving Festival,” the grand event will unfold at the Moroto Boma Grounds on Sunday, April 20, 2025. The festival promises a day filled with free food, drinks, music, and unfiltered merrymaking — all fully sponsored by the MP himself.

Adome, widely recognized for his grassroots connection and signature “cash voucher strategy,” said this is his way of giving back to the people who entrusted him with their vote. “The people of Moroto put their faith in me. I couldn’t think of a better time to eat, dance, and celebrate together than this Easter,” he remarked.

Buzz around the event has already taken over social media, with announcements highlighting “Free entry, food and drinks, plus performances from top artists!” The hype has triggered a region-wide pilgrimage, with attendees expected from all corners of Karamoja.

“I’ve already fixed the puncture on my bicycle,” said a grinning Joseph Sagal from Nakapiripirit. “A party like this? I can’t miss it!”
Peter Kodet from Napak added, “We Bokora and Matheniko are one people. Adome is bringing us together through celebration.”

But it’s not just the food and music drawing crowds — it’s the scale of the spectacle. Sources close to the organizers say Adome has poured over UGX 50 million into a top-tier events company to turn the Boma Grounds into a mini music festival, complete with high-end stage lighting, giant LED screens, drones, concert-grade sound systems, camera crews, and a fireworks show that could rival Kampala’s New Year display.

Preparations are already underway, with event crews erecting tents and staging equipment as anticipation builds.

Adome’s popularity skyrocketed in 2021 after defeating former MP Angela Fred. Since then, he’s been lauded for his personal outreach, regular village visits, and direct financial aid to locals. “Giving people cash lets them decide what they truly need,” he said.

As Easter Sunday nears, travel plans are being made, bicycles tuned up, and dancing shoes dusted off. Whether you’re a loyal supporter or just craving good food and entertainment, all roads lead to Moroto this Easter.
