“After the unfortunate event, we chose to pause operations to facilitate a thorough investigation. The findings have cleared our staff of any wrongdoing, and they have since been released from police custody. Any media reports suggesting otherwise are false, malicious, and baseless—please disregard them,” the statement read in part.

The management also assured customers and the public that an official reopening date will be communicated shortly.

“We’ll inform you of the exact date our doors will reopen, and we assure you it will be very soon,” the statement added.

Mezo Noir, a well-known nightclub in the upscale Kololo area, shut down temporarily on March 21, 2025, after the tragic death of 23-year-old Martha Murari.

Murari reportedly collapsed after consuming an alcoholic drink suspected to have been laced by a staff member. She was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
