District Water Engineer Found Dead in Arua Lodge

Police in Arua has concluded investigation into the sudden death on duty of Madi Okollo District engineer that occurred in a lodge at Chongolia cell, Awindiri ward in Arua city division on Monday.
The postmortem report indicated the cause of death as physiological.

“This man was a workaholic and at the time of his death, he forgot about his body. He did not want to feed the body, at the time of his death, he had a perforation of the intestine, so he bled in the stomach. There was nothing like food in his stomach,” Doctor Charles Madrama the police surgeon declared.

Mr Eric Arumadri, 37, was a resident of Ewanyapa Cell Alivu Ward Ayivu West Division in Arua City.

Reports from Police preliminary investigations indicated that Arumadri was sent from his work station in Madi Okollo to Arua City to buy Corporate T-shirts meant for the celebration of World Water day in Madi Okollo when he met his death.

Mr Collins Asea, The acting West Nile regional spokesperson, said the deceased arrived in Arua at 12:30 pm and booked room number 07 at Home Land Guest House to have a rest with his known girlfriend (name withheld).

However, it is said to have collapsed in the Guest House and was rushed to Family Care Hospital but died on arrival.

Police said all property inside the room was recovered, and the woman was detained at Arua Central Police Station to assist in the investigation. The body was taken to Arua Regional Referral Hospital for postmortem.
