Faridah Nambi, fuming, huffing, and puffing, has vowed to overturn the Kawempe North by-election results, insisting she cannot accept defeat.
Nambi, The ruling NRM party candidate lost the March 13 election to NUP’s Elias Luyimbazi Nalukoola, who secured 17,764 votes against her 8,593.
However, Nambi claims the election was marred by violence and irregularities that left her at a disadvantage.
“I was shocked by the level of violence, especially at my own polling station. My colleague, Councillor Masuuti, and I feel targeted. We want justice,” she said.

She goes on to allege that the Electoral Commission failed to count over 1,874 votes, arguing that the official tally did not reflect the true outcome.
Bambi said her votes now stand at 9,500 after the EC allegedly called her to inform her of the development.
NUP Deputy President for Buganda, Muwanga Kivumbi, dismissed her claims, accusing security forces of fueling the violence.
“I was at Mbogo when the security agents came. If they want a witness, I am ready,” he said.
NRM is now preparing to challenge the results in court.
