In honour of the late Emmanuel Tumusiime Mutebile, the former Bank of Uganda Governor, YK Museveni – President of Uganda Joined the family and well-wishers for a memorial lecture at the Serena Hotel in Kampala. Mutebile was a very useful ally of the Resistance Movement according to Tibuhaburwa.
Museveni adds that with his emphasis on private sector-led growth, he guided them on controlling inflation, allowing the Exchange rate to find its level and resistance against the economics of cheap popularity like unnecessary subsidies which would have caused jeopardy. Museveni salutes him.
According to UBC, President YK Museveni asked officials handling Uganda’s economy, especially at the Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development and Bank of Uganda to emulate the late Mutebile’s honesty.
