U.S. Issues Terror Alerts for Uganda

The United States Embassy in Kampala Uganda has today issued a terror alert for it’s citizens residing in Uganda and those intending to travel to the country over possible terror attacks in the country.

According to a security advisory , the embassy advised its citizens to exercise an elevated degree of caution and rethink attending upcoming worship, music and cultural shows due to increased terrorist activity in the country.

The embassy further urged it’s Citizens to stay alert in locations frequented by tourists . “Additionally, be mindful when visiting locations where people tend to gather such as hotels, malls, and marketplaces” the statement further reads

The Embassy authorities urged U.S. citizens to enroll in the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP) in order to receive information and alerts and making it easier to locate them in an emergency

In the recent few weeks, Uganda has been rattled by attacks from the Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) which saw two foreign tourists and their Ugandan guide killed inside Queen Elizabeth National Park by suspected ADF rebels.
