President Museveni, the National Chairperson of the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM), has summoned the NRM Parliamentary Caucus for a meeting at State House Entebbe this Friday.
Scheduled for 10 a.m., the meeting will focus on budget priorities for the 2025/2026 financial year, according to a memo from Government Chief Whip Denis Hamson Obua.

An NRM MP speaking anonymously emphasized the meeting’s significance in ensuring the party’s agenda is reflected in the national budget.
As a precaution, MPs have been directed to undergo COVID-19 testing on Wednesday and Thursday at Parliament’s conference hall.
Although the official agenda is budget-related, some MPs speculate that other key issues—such as the recent Supreme Court ruling limiting the General Court Martial’s powers—could also be discussed.
Attendance is mandatory for all NRM and independent NRM-leaning MPs, with a high turnout anticipated.
