Police in Mukono have launched investigations into the death of a Senior Three student who was found hanging in the dormitory at Seeta High School. Kampala Metropolitan deputy police spokesperson, Luke Owoyesigyire, identified the deceased as 16-year-old Elishammah Ssesazi, whose body was discovered by classmates around 3:00 AM.

Owoyesigyire explained that Ssesazi had attended evening classes until 10:00 PM before returning to the dormitory with his peers. A roommate later found him hanging beside his bed and immediately informed the school administration, which then alerted the police. The body was taken to the City Mortuary in Mulago for a postmortem to determine the exact cause of death.
While some reports suggest the student took his own life after his father, a Kampala businessman, refused to give him UGX 2 million without a clear explanation for its purpose, police have cautioned against drawing conclusions.
“The motive behind the suspected suicide remains unclear, and investigations are ongoing to establish the facts,” Owoyesigyire said. He urged students, parents, and the public to remain calm as inquiries continue, promising further updates once more details emerge.
The incident occurred at Seeta High School, owned by the Minister for Higher Education, John Chrysostom Muyingo.
