Yesterday was quite the rollercoaster day on X; the Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) termed MPs ‘clowns’ and some ‘fools’ only the account to end up missing from the social media site by the day’s end.
The Chief of Defence Forces, General Muhoozi Kainerugaba’s account on the microblogging site X, formerly known as Twitter, is missing.
The account, @mkainerugaba, reportedly went blank at about 9pm local time. When searched, it returns a blank page with the message, “This account doesn’t exist; try searching for another”,

General Muhoozi had only reactivated his account on Thursday, six days after he took it down in order to concentrate on the army.
Minister Balaam Barugahara has cited “malicious actions” for the disappearance of the account
“Our favourite X account faces a suspected hijack by haters,” Barugahara, a committee member of Muhoozi’s Patriotic League Uganda, said.
“But their malicious actions won’t dampen our love and determination to stand by him forever. Our loyalty and admiration for Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba remain unwavering. We love Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba for life,” he added.
On the days prior, the CDF was heavily engaged on X, and his tweets had escalated to parliament.
On the dawn of Friday, he had condemned Kizza Besigye to hanging on Heroes Day (June 9) and later said to arrest Members of Parliament.
“I will never appear before parliamentary clowns. Instead, I will arrest them all.”
“If anyone even coughs in the wrong way, I will arrest him or her on the spot,” he added.
It became a tit for tat as MP Derrick Nyeko of Makindye added, “Article 208 clearly states that the UPDF will be under civilian authority. Your presence is mandatory before us.”
“This is not a lawless jungle; this is a public office, and you will be held responsible for your actions,” he added.
The CDF, Gen. Muhoozi, responded, albeit to him, “After we kill Besigye, it will be the turn of some MPs. Their necks have grown too fat from stealing money from us. We will hang them!”
“As for the beheading of Kabobi [Bobi Wine], it’s still on. When he disappears one of these days, don’t ask me a lot of questions.”
And suddenly the account disappeared.
