On wednesday, police in Bamusuta Village, Nakasongola district, discovered yet-to-be two bodies of a man and woman
The bodies found along Gulu, stripped naked, were taken to Nakasongola Health Centre IV mortuary, where they are yet to be claimed.
“The investigators suspect the possibility of an accident involving a hit-and-run vehicle that caused the deaths, but the postmortem report will give us further details about the possible cause of the two deaths,” Niragire explained.

The female victim’s head was crushed, and the bodies showed signs of severe injury, consistent with a high-impact accident. However, some officials suspect foul play, as the bodies were found without clothes, sparking concerns that they may have been intentionally stripped.
“We were shocked to find out that the two bodies had some clothes missing on each of the bodies. It is likely that the people behind the deaths of the two people could have intentionally tried to strip the deceased persons of their respective clothes,” said Katuugo Town Council LC3 Chairperson, Mr. Fred Lubina Lubinga, who was among the first responders.
Lubinga urged the public to visit the mortuary to identify the bodies. “We call upon the public to go to Nakasongola Health Centre IV mortuary to try and identify the bodies that could be of their missing relatives,” Lubinga said.
The incident has sent shockwaves through the community, with many residents expressing concern about the safety of the highway.
The police have urged motorists to exercise caution while driving on the highway and to report any incidents or suspicious activity to the authorities immediately.
