Ministry of Works and Transport employees Goretti Naigaga and Francis Ofwono have been arrested on allegations of forging passenger service vehicle (PSV) licenses.
Deputy RCC of Industrial City Division, Mbale, Hamuza Banja, revealed that an investigation showed ministry of works officials allegedly connived with UTB bank officers to issue fake PSV documents. These documents reportedly contained incorrect account numbers, and the payments were deposited into personal accounts rather than the Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) accounts.
Over 40 taxi drivers stormed the office of the Mbale City resident city commissioner (RCC) last friday, demonstrating over the impoundment of their motor vehicles at various traffic police checkpoints.
